The music lovers of hit number from classic movie Guide, PIYA TOSE NAINA LAGE RE, must know that it was originally written for DEVDAS MOVIE for Dilip Kumar and Suchitra Sen. The talented team of lyricist and music director of this popular song, Shailendra, S. D. Burman and Lata Mangeshkar is same who had written, composed and sung for Guide movie as well. Both the movies are classics of Indian Cinema.

Though, the words of this melodic and tuneful song and also musiccal values were little different then because A SITAR piece was replaced with tabla. It had also been filmed on Versatile Suchitra Sen. Unfortunately the song was not used in Devdas but the same song was used ten years later in GUIDE movie and had became an instant hit after its release.
