FILM MAKER SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI SLAPPED BY VIOLENT KARNI SENA MEMBERS
On friday, Rajput karni Sena violent protesters stormed the set of the ace film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali at jaipur, beat up the director, damaged expensive cinematic equipments and vandalized the set. Karni sena alleged the film maker are distorting the history in his historical film and showing the much celebrated Rajput queen in poor light who is worshiped till today by the Rajput community. The same kind of allegations were slapped on Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the making of his earlier film, Bajirao Mastani another historical film. If you may recall, similarly, Karni Sena in the past had accused another film maker of historical Movie, Jodha Akbar of distorting the historical facts.
It is alleged that Sanjay Leela Bhasali was slapped and his hair was pulled by Karni Sena members during the shoot of the said movie at Jaigarh fort and also damaged the cine equipment.
The historical drama, Padmavati is based on the life accounts of Queen Padmini who was married to Chittor's Rajput King Raval Ratan Singh a brave rajput warrior. His kingdom was attacked by the muslim Sultan, Allauddin Khilji who was smitten with the supreme beauty of Queen Padmini. The fierce battle between the two was lost by Raval Ratan Singh with his death but when the Delhi emperor, Allaudin marched toward the queen's palace to get the her he was shocked to learn that all the Royal women including Padmavati had committed Jauhar, Self-immolation.
After the unfortunate incident, the local police has given the assurance that no body would be allowed to take the law in the hands but unfortunately it has already been taken. Both the parties of said incident have refused to lodge FIR (first information report) against each other for further police actions.
The district president Narayan Singh and chief of Karni Sena said the film maker would not be allowed to present the wrong facts of their respected Queen. On the other side, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided not to ever shoot his films in Jaipur city.
